The city of Peshawar is the place where the Pashtun people live; they settled here in the 1st century BC. The legendary Silk Road once passed here. Today the city's population is more than 3 million. Almost all residents of Peshawar profess Islam. Local residents are very conservative, especially when it comes to family and women. Women don't just wear hijab, most of them hide their faces.
