“The Erased Truth About “Shchedryk”” is a documentary film from “The Real History” series. The most famous Christmas song in the world, Carol of the Bells, is the Ukrainian folk song “Shchedryk”, arranged by composer Mykola Leontovych. However, for many decades the true history of “Shchedryk” was kept secret. The world might never have known her if not for the leader of the UPR Symon Petlyura. “Shchedryk” became not just a Christmas song, but a symbol of the Ukrainians’ struggle for independence.
