The largest and most famous of all Bukovyna Malanok takes place in the village of Krasnoilsk, which is located on the border with Romania. On January 13 and 14, thousands of people, dressed in amazing costumes and masks, move through the streets with songs and dances. In this ritual action, the main role is given to unmarried boys. Each group has a commandant, grandfathers, grandmothers, traders, gypsies and bears. This carnival lasts a day, the final chord of the holiday is a bear competition. All costumes are prepared by the participants during the year, and the masks are passed down from generation to generation. Malanka is in great demand among tourists from different parts of the world.
