Ukrainian Palaces. Golden Age. Palace in Kurisove

"Palace in Kurisove" is a documentary film from the series "Ukrainian Palaces. Golden Age". The host of the program, Akim Halimov, will visit the village of Kurisove in the Odesa region. More than 200 years ago, there was an estate of Ivan Onufriyovych Kuris, a Ukrainian Cossack, possibly of Greek origin, who had a noble title. He ordered to build a magnificent palace in the oriental style on the ruins of a Turkish fortress. The favorite grandson of Ivan Kurіs, who was named Ivan in honor of his grandfather, continued the construction of the fairy-tale palace. Everything here was luxurious, elegant and rich: minarets, a Mauritanian arch, a library of 20,000 rare books, a collection of paintings, engravings and sculptures, a greenhouse for 2,000 exotic plants, a Dutch park and a man-made forest.
