Ukrainian Palaces. Golden Age. Palace in Novooleksandrivka

"Palace in Novooleksandrivka" is a documentary film from the series "Ukrainian Palaces. Golden Age". 150 years ago, the family of German agrarian magnates, the Falz-Fein family, ruled the lands of the Kherson region. In 1883, Friedrich Falz-Fein founded the unique Askania-Nova reserve here. The host of the program, Akim Halimov, will visit the village of Novooleksandrivka, which once belonged to Oleksandr Falz-Fein (1864-1919), Friedrich’s brother. He was a wealthy landowner, philanthropist, and owner of a piece of paradise that was called the “Pearl of the South.” Oleksandr owned an incredibly beautiful palace with a paradise garden and a giant aquarium, an arboretum, an English park of 300 hectares with exotic animals and birds, orchards and vineyards. Unfortunately, the Bolsheviks and the wars destroyed everything.
